It is my pleasure to reveal to you the most recent publications of H.P. Lovecraft’s work. Out only 15 earth days ago, a new annotated edition of The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward emerges on bookshelves. Edited by the highest Lovecraftian scholar S.T. Joshi and with illustrations by Donovan K. Loucks it is the most complete version of the story to date.
The most interesting thing about The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward is how little Lovecraft himself liked it. After he wrote it it was simply but in an envelope and placed in a drawer to be lost to the world until it was published (and highly edited) by Weird Tales after his death. The story was truly only a first draft by the author, but it has now become one of his most beloved stories, introducing names like Yog-Sothoth into his mythos as well as reminding readers of his reoccurring charter Randolph Carter.
